3. Smitten with these dresses this week. I love how sunshine-y they are, and I'm dying over flower and lace prints. Too cute!

4. I've recently become obsessed with Korean dramas! They're just so cute and I love how modest they are. Right now, I'm watching Boys Over Flowers and I love it so much! Lee Min-ho is dreeeeeamy. ♥

Who else is super excited for this weekend? I'm spending the next two days getting caught up on some work and planning out my work and goals for the next few weeks. July 1st will be my first day as my own boss, and I'm both crazy excited and kind of scared. This will be the start of a whole new chapter of my life, and the spark that starts a bunch of exciting new changes to come. It's a thrilling time! xo, Mandy

52 Weeks of Smoothies: Mango Coconut

I have to say that out of all of the smoothies I've made this year, green smoothies are always my favorite. I just love that you can get your fruits AND veggies in one delicious drink. I especially love green smoothies for this time of year. They're fresh and nutritious, and such a fun summer color!
For this week's smoothie, I wanted to add a bit of a beachy, summer flavor to a typical green smoothie. I had some frozen mango and cream of coconut on hand, so I figured they would be perfect together for a fruity island twist!

Mango Coconut Green Smoothie, serves 1
1 cup freshly washed kale
1 cup frozen mango chunks
1/2 of a banana
2 Tbsp cream of coconut
3 Tbsp raw slivered almonds
1 cup cold spring water
1 Tbsp flax + chia seeds (optional)

Mandy's May Wishlist

To me, May kind of feels like the calm before the storm. Summer is usually a really busy time of year for me. After staying home a lot to avoid the cold winter weather, I like getting out as much as possible. Lots of adventuring around town, thrifting, and photo-taking. It's my favorite!

This month's wishlist is full of pretty summer dresses and accessories, some cute home decor items, and a couple books I'm wanting to add to my collection. Martha Stewart's new book is high up on my list. She's such a creative inspiration to me and I really admire the business that she's built. I also want to read her book about tips for achieving success in business...any tips from her would definitely be welcome!

This has been a great month so far, and I'm looking forward to the rest of it. What are some things you're wishing for? xo, Mandy

P.S. Unfortunately, I had to disable the new commenting system and go back to using Blogger's. I was having too many issues with the comment count not working, and a friend pointed out that if I ever decided to stop using that system, all of the comments left through it would be erased. Eeek! The Happy List

I wanted to introduce a new feature here on Miss Indie to share favorite moments from my daily life. In the coming months, I plan on directing the main focus of MI to DIYs, recipes, and outfits. While planning out the future of my blog , I was worried that in making these changes it would cause Miss Indie to become less personal and therefore making it harder for readers to find a genuine connection with me and my content. So, I decided to create The Happy List, a feature that is literally a list of things currently making me happy. Here's what's been going on in my life lately...

I've officially decided that Mondays are for margaritas. And cute slippers. Who's with me?

Flower shopping while out running errands. One of my favorite parts about Spring is all of the beautiful flowers blooming and the amazing floral scent they give off. Driving to dinner the other night, all you could smell was honeysuckle. It was the best.

Trying to stay super hydrated this year (and every year, haha). I'm really enjoying coconut water. It's so refreshing! I especially love the packaging for this brand. The design is super cute.

Sushi dates! One of the local grocery markets makes the best sushi everyday, and I love stopping by for lunch while shopping for fresh produce and smoothie ingredients. California rolls are my weakness! *wink*

Fabric shopping for upcoming craft projects. My favorite local fabric store recently moved to a bigger location, so shopping for fabric really is a treat now. If you live in or near Springfield, check out FM Stores next to the Battlefield Mall...their clearance tables are a blast to look through!

I just love this photo. I was messing around in Lightroom the other night and this edit reminded me of so much of Amelie (one of my favorite movies). I think I need to travel to France again....and stay there. Swooooon.

I got the new She & Him album in the mail yesterday!!! It was the best mail day ever. She & Him is one of my favorite bands of all time. I just adore their style and Zooey's voice is lovely. So far, all of the records I've bought were from thrift shops and flea markets, so I was happy that this was my first "brand new" record. It also came with a post card and a poster, so I'm pretty much smitten.

Say what you want about this not being healthy, but sometimes a girl just needs to put on a pretty dress and get an ice cream cone. Especially when it's birthday cake. :)

I love my sister's red converse and crazy socks. She's a cool kid teenager.
