Turquoise + Lemongrass

I'm seriously in love with this color combo. I've never paired these two colors together, so I'm glad I tried them out because I love how fresh this duo is for summer. They kind of remind me of mermaids...like the colors of the ocean. Swoooon!

It's heating up here, which I'm loving. I feel like we only had about 2 weeks of pretty spring weather, and then we jumped right into lots of hot sun and humid air. I'm not complaining though, I live for this season. We're only 11 days from June (what?!), and I'm so ready to soak up every sun-drenched day of summer. I very much crave nature in the summertime. Ideally, I'd spend every day outside, but I'm not able to easily move my work. So, on busy work days I like to have every possible window open. This summer, I'm visiting as many garage sales and parks as I can to make up for having to be indoors so much. This will all change in a few weeks when I become self-employed though, which I couldn't be more excited about. I'll be able to paint and work on my computer while on my deck or at a park. Lots of time outside then. It's going to be wonderful! xo, Mandy

(Saturday's) Favorite Things!

4. I've recently become obsessed with Korean dramas! They're just so cute and I love how modest they are. Right now, I'm watching Boys Over Flowers and I love it so much! Lee Min-ho is dreeeeeamy. ♥

Who else is super excited for this weekend? I'm spending the next two days getting caught up on some work and planning out my work and goals for the next few weeks. July 1st will be my first day as my own boss, and I'm both crazy excited and kind of scared. This will be the start of a whole new chapter of my life, and the spark that starts a bunch of exciting new changes to come. It's a thrilling time! xo, Mandy

52 Weeks of Smoothies: Mango Coconut

I have to say that out of all of the smoothies I've made this year, green smoothies are always my favorite. I just love that you can get your fruits AND veggies in one delicious drink. I especially love green smoothies for this time of year. They're fresh and nutritious, and such a fun summer color!
For this week's smoothie, I wanted to add a bit of a beachy, summer flavor to a typical green smoothie. I had some frozen mango and cream of coconut on hand, so I figured they would be perfect together for a fruity island twist!
Mango Coconut Green Smoothie, serves 1
1 cup freshly washed kale
1 cup frozen mango chunks
1/2 of a banana
2 Tbsp cream of coconut
3 Tbsp raw slivered almonds
1 cup cold spring water
1 Tbsp flax + chia seeds (optional)

Mandy's May Wishlist

To me, May kind of feels like the calm before the storm. Summer is usually a really busy time of year for me. After staying home a lot to avoid the cold winter weather, I like getting out as much as possible. Lots of adventuring around town, thrifting, and photo-taking. It's my favorite!

This month's wishlist is full of pretty summer dresses and accessories, some cute home decor items, and a couple books I'm wanting to add to my collection. Martha Stewart's new book is high up on my list. She's such a creative inspiration to me and I really admire the business that she's built. I also want to read her book about tips for achieving success in business...any tips from her would definitely be welcome!

This has been a great month so far, and I'm looking forward to the rest of it. What are some things you're wishing for? xo, Mandy

P.S. Unfortunately, I had to disable the new commenting system and go back to using Blogger's. I was having too many issues with the comment count not working, and a friend pointed out that if I ever decided to stop using that system, all of the comments left through it would be erased. Eeek!
