For the past week or two, whenever I get a little free time I've been scouring Pinterest and Flickr for bedroom inspiration. I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorites today. I really want to create a cozy, inspiring place with a bunch of vintage/retro details mixed in. I'm on the hunt for vintage bedding, like floral sheets (that are CLEAN, mind you), pretty quilts, and granny square blankets. Quick question: Would it just be easier to buy them from Etsy or Ebay? I've been searching flea markets for months and all I seem to find are dirty sheets or unbelievably overpriced ones. Any tips for buying vintage sheets/quilts/granny square blankets would be most appreciated! :) Once I get everything set up and looking cute, I might do a before/after or room tour post. It could be a month or two before I get around to it though...I have a feeling I'll end up redecorating a handful of times before I'm happy with the finished look, haha. xoxo mandypants

These photos are such great inspiration :) Makes me want to re-do my bedroom x
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous - I've always wanted a cast iron bed frame, I'm drooling over the first image especially. Just so pretty!
ReplyDeleteIf you do happen to find some vintage flower sheets let me know I'm on a search too. These pictures make me want to redecorate my room a little.

These almost make me wish I had my own bedroom again, because I could decorate it a little more girly. But now I'm just inspired to find ways to make my bedroom both cozy, like those, AND boyfriend friendly!
ReplyDeleteI would try Etsy for the sheets. I splurged on a comforter from Anthropolgie, but I found some adorable vintage sheets to go with it on Etsy! Good luck, I love the photos you found!
ReplyDeleteLovely, I have almost all of those images on my pinterest bedroom as well. Except for that last one, how did I miss that?!
ReplyDeleteThe second and third photo down are my favorites. That mint green is so adorable!

those bedrooms are all so cute! The problem I have, is keeping my room from looking cluttered... I have so much stuff and parting with any of it would be traumatizing.

Oooh, so much pretty in this post. I'm such a sucker for anything that has to do with home decor, that end table in the first picture is so gorgeous, I adore the color. The bedding is super pretty in the first picture and I love chevron print, the entire bedroom in the 5th picture should be mine.

I love all of these (actually pinned 2 of them..haha)!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
That granny square blanket is so cute!! I'm super close to finishing my own and I absolutely can't wait to finish it! Have you thought about making your own instead of buying one? I think that'd be more fun, but it would definitely take more time (considering it's taken me two months just to make mine..) but it would be super cute to add to your room either way. I'm so jealous you get to re-do your room! I rearrange my room so often because I always get bored with what I have. Haha, sorry for rambling! Good luck moving and decorating your new house!

Thank you for this post - I am in love with these bedroom photos! I have been trying to figure out what to do for a headboard/above bed decor situation forever and I think I found my answer in the 8th picture - love that fabric-filled window pane.
ReplyDeleteIn terms of vintage sheets and blankets, I've always had to turn to Etsy. I spent a fair amount of time scouring every thrift store within 100 or so miles of where I live (I was determined!) and still found nothing. Everything seemed to be weirdly stained, torn, frayed, or worn. I had better luck on Etsy, though, but spent a little more money. Another potential source might be an estate sale - the selection at those are sometimes better than what one can find in a thrift store. Good luck with your search!
Great inspiration pictures! Thank you for sharing :)

Ah, so cozy. I've been going pinterest crazy with inspiration for when I leave the nest.
ReplyDeleteAmazing inspiration :) All of these are cozy, but my favorites are #1 + #3. I'd say either site would work for you. I've used both many times, and never have been disappointed.

I love all the bedroom inspiration, whatever you put together will definitely look cute. You can great vintage sheets from etsy or ebay, I've found great ones either place but it just takes a lot of looking. When you said you were looking though it reminded me of this shop on etsy where she puts together mismatched sheets in adorable sets at great prices. Here's the link: etsy.com/verylovelylife
ReplyDeleteI really want to get some of my own but I'm waiting until I decide what I'm going with my room! Good luck with the decorating!

Great photo inspiration!! I wish my room looked like one of those pics! I ALWAYS find a butt-load of granny blankets when I go thrifting. I'm not sure if it's just because they are popular for the area I live in (Seattle) but I see them all the time.. same goes for vintage sheets. The top places I always find them are Goodwill outlet - if you have one of these in your area but have never been, this is a warning- it will NOT be clean! But I found my two granny blankets there and I just washed them on the gentle cycle in the machine a couple times before using them. I also always find them at Value Village; also not sure if you have access to one.
ReplyDeleteIf you're willing to splurge a bit, Anthropologie has beautiful designs. Urban Outfitters also has very vintage-y sheets and such. My friend found one on Etsy though and it's absolutely lovely and didn't cost her all that much.
ReplyDeleteI will be moving to London soon and I can't wait to decorate my studio! Thanks for sharing your inspiration.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful pictures. I could hardly pick a favorite. :)
ReplyDeleteI love vintage decoration. I want to have a house to decorated in this style

Love ALL of these. I have the suden urge to make bunting for my bedroom; or, at the very least, tidy a little so it looks slightly more homey. ^^;
ReplyDeleteThis was really a beautiful Bedroom . It's nice to see the pictures and take in every detail, thank for your share.
ReplyDeleteMost of my vintage floral sheets came from vintage shopping. I have tons of pillow covers and sheets, all for under $2! All from Goodwill. Thrift stores sometimes have them, ya just have to look!
