My weekend in instagrams

1. Part of my new clean eating lifestyle is that I'm adding fruits and vegetables to as many meals as possible, making them more of the focus of the meal instead of protein or carbs. Friday night I had a bowl of roasted butternut squash with brown sugar and it was sooo yummy! 2. New running shoes! I've never had running shoes that were so comfortable, and guess what? Only $10 at K-Mart! 3. Really enjoying 2013 so far. It doesn't feel like it's flying by like so many years past. I'm calling it right now, this year is going to kick major butt. 4. Making my 24 Before 25 goals while riding in the car. I can't tell you how beneficial it is to carry a little notebook around with you everywhere. I currently have several and use them every day.

However, none of this compares to the most exciting news of the weekend...

My mom got yorkie puppies! She's been wanting a little yorkie for quite a while now, and my dad surprised her on her birthday with the money to finally get one! We met with a local breeder yesterday, and after meeting all of the puppies and dying of cuteness overload, my mom picked out sweet little Sami. On our drive home, none of us could stop thinking about one of the other puppies...she was such a sweetheart and so playful. My sister texted my dad and told him all about her, and he said that we better turn around and go get her! Let me tell you, it was the craziest Sunday ever. We woke up with only one dog, and now we have 3! Roxie and Sami are the sweetest little sisters. Sami likes to pounce on Roxie's tail when she's not looking, and Roxie has a tendency to accidentally sit in her water dish (her little puppy legs are a bit wobbly still, haha). 

What's the solution for world peace? Give everyone a puppy. Seriously. Puppy kisses and puppy breath are all you need. :) xo, Mandy
