One of my favorite fruity drinks is an Orange Julius. It's such a refreshing drink, perfect for spring and summer. Unfortunately, it's loaded with sugar and calories...definitely not healthy. I didn't want to have to miss out on this yummy treat, so I decided to create my own healthy version! I found
this recipe on Gimme Some Oven and adapted my recipe from her's. Enjoy!
Healthy Orange Julius, serves 1
1 orange, peeled (remove any seeds)
4-6 baby carrots (not necessary, but I like adding them for extra health benefits)
1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup almond milk
1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp flax + chia seeds (optional)
1-1 1/2 cups crushed ice
You can easily change the flavor of this smoothie by using mango, strawberry, or pineapple instead of oranges. I think a strawberry mango julius would be super delicious! xo. Mandy

ReplyDeleteI just got a blender not that long ago and will soon be getting a pantry so it can live out above the cupboards. I expect that between that and all your tasty-looking posts, this will be a smoothie filled spring/summer. c:

Your smoothies all sound so good! I keep pinning them all. You're really inspiring, by the way. (I'm trying to get healthy myself.)

I've been on this crazy health kick lately (I say crazy because most everyone thinks I am for giving up sugar and grain...) and it's hard to find "treats." I just got a blender for my birthday and I can't wait to try this out! Thank you so much!
